2025-26 Autumn / Winter FLU and COVID Vaccination Campaign

We are happy to say that our main autumn/winter FLU and COVID vaccination campaign will start on 1 October 2025.

Eligibility for the NHS seasonal flu vaccination remains the same as in previous years.

There has been a change to the eligibility for the NHS Winter COVID vaccination. This is in line with the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation’s (JCVI) recommendation to align eligibility with the spring campaigns.

Eligibility for a NHS Seasonal Flu Vaccination

  • 65 years and over;
  • 18 – 64 years at clinical risk;
  • Those in long stay residential care homes;
  • Carers of elderly or disabled persons;
  • Close contacts of immunocompromised individuals;
  • Frontline workers in a social care setting.

Eligibility for a NHS Winter COVID Vaccination

  • All Adults aged 75 or over
  • Patients aged 6 months to 74 years who have a weakened immune system because of a health condition or treatment
  • Residents in a care home for older adults

At Ixworth Surgery we will be hosting the following clinics:

Saturday 4th October – Flu & Covid for eligible patients aged 65 and over

Sunday 5th October – Flu ONLY for patients aged 65 and over

Saturday 11th October AM – Flu ONLY for eligible patients aged under 65

Saturday 11th October PM – Flu & COVID for eligible patients aged under 65

Booking your Vaccinations

We will be sending text messages and calling eligible patients over the next few weeks to invite them to book into these clinics.

We would be very grateful if patients who are phoning in to book in for their vaccinations could please do so after 2pm in the afternoon. This will help us to reduce pressure on our phone system during our busiest periods.

Further vaccination clinics will be announced in the autumn.
